Trees have a lot of power! A tree captures 12kg of carbon dioxide per year. Given a tree life of 25 years, a tree removes 300kg of CO2 from the atmosphere. The average CO2 emission of Swiss citizens is 14 tons per year (Our World in Data). Accordingly, around 50 trees are needed to capture the average annual CO2 emission of a Swiss citizen. With 5 referred friends, this amount of CO2 will be compensated.

Since we don’t have enough capacity to plant a forest ourselves, we leave it to the professionals. Our partner Eden Reforestation Projects is planting trees in eight countries since 2005 and is actively contributing to climate protection. To date, more than 697 million trees have been planted in Haiti, Honduras, Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Nepal and Nicaragua. As the regions suffering from deforestation are usually also the ones struggling with extreme poverty, the non-profit organization entrusts the planting of trees to local people. This enables them to earn a steady income and supports reforestation.
