Short interview with Marco from A. Lehmann Elektro AG

Please tell me at the beginning what your function at A. Lehmann Elektro AG is. 

I’m Technical Director IT & Telecommunications. In addition to technical topics in day-to-day business, I also evaluate new technologies or products in order to be able to cover new needs with our offer.

Tell us something about A. Lehmann Elektro AG. What are you doing exactly?

A. Lehmann Elektro AG, originally purely an electrical installation company, now employs 130 people at 8 locations. We are one of the leading companies in the fields of building technology, automation, IT & telecommunications and energy technology.

What problem(s) existed at A. Lehmann Elektro AG before you started working with Digital Republic?

In many business areas of building technology, such as electromobility and photovoltaics, IoT devices that require an Internet connection are increasingly being used. In many cases, this infrastructure is not available at the installation site. A classic Internet connection via fiber optics or DSL is expensive and involves a long lead time.

How does Digital Republic’s offering help you solve these problems? What convinced you?

With the Mobile Internet subscriptions from Digital Republic and the corresponding router, a cost-effective Internet connection can be implemented at almost any location. This without a long lead time or physical installations. The different tariffs and terms cover almost every use case that we have had so far.

Why did you choose Digital Republic over another provider’s solution?

Inexpensive mobile Internet subscriptions from other providers are usually only offered with a limited data volume. Estimating the required data volume is difficult for devices that receive updates via the Internet, for example. This leads to unexpected additional costs or, in the worst case, to failures. Digital Republic brings the decisive advantage here with unlimited data volume and different tariff models with corresponding bandwidths.

Would you recommend Digital Republic to other companies and if so, why?

Yes. Technically, Digital Republic’s services work reliably and can be tested and used by other companies with very little administrative effort.

What’s next for A. Lehmann Elektro AG?

The areas of electromobility and photovoltaics, in general the demands on energy technology are increasing and remain exciting. The expansion of renewable energies, additional consumption and the energy crisis require an intelligent power grid (smart grid) in which consumers and producers exchange information in real time and regardless of location. For this purpose we develop our own products and solutions, such as the Smart Charge Controller (dynamic load management), in order to be able to make our contribution to a stable power grid.
