Use Cases
Mobile Surveillance and Wildlife Cameras
Connecting surveillance cameras thanks to mobile Internet
Surveillance cameras can now be found in many places. In the home, in the garden, in the holiday apartment or in the garage. The security of being able to visually check what is happening in another place has become more and more important. However, surveillance cameras are often located in places that can no longer be reached by normal WLAN. Meanwhile, you can buy many security cameras that are equipped with a SIM card slot as standard. The connection of the camera to the internet is therefore very easy and can be done within minutes without any complex configuration.
Which data subscription is suitable for surveillance cameras?
Depending on the type of camera, a different SIM card is recommended. If you use a surveillance or wildlife camera, which sends a single picture via e-mail at irregular intervals, a Flat 4 with 0.4 Mbits download and 0.2 Mbits upload is perfectly sufficient. If you want to access the video stream in real time, you have to use at least a Flat 10 with 10 Mbits download and 5 Mbits upload.
