Otto Fischer AG, a wholesale company in the field of electrical engineering based in Zurich West, now offers its own connectivity solution in cooperation with Digital Republic AG.
Access to the mobile Internet via the 3G, 4G or 5G network has become increasingly important in recent years. Installers use tablets and laptops on the road and customers are increasingly using devices networked via the Internet, e.g. in the field of smart home or remote maintenance, monitoring and servicing.
The trend is summarised under the term “Internet of Things” (IoT) and brings many new opportunities to the electrical installation sector. Devices such as alarm systems, heating control systems, electricity meters, solar systems, IP cameras, GPS trackers, remote maintenance or eMobility systems communicate via the Internet and offer users intelligent functions. Many of these devices require an Internet-enabled SIM card for this purpose.

During a customer order, the “Otto Fischer Connect” SIM is registered by the end customer and immediately put into operation by the installer together with the corresponding device.
