Manage surveillance systems with mobile Internet
Surveillance cameras and wildlife cameras are usually located in places that are not covered by the regular WLAN. For this reason, it is advisable to equip the cameras concerned with a SIM card. This allows the image data to be transmitted reliably. For direct access to a camera, you need to access a node connected to the camera via VPN. Since SIM cards with mobile Internet cannot use a public static IP, direct access is not possible. It is therefore advisable to use devices that can establish a VPN connection to the application server themselves.
What Internet speed does a surveillance system need?
Different speeds are required depending on the camera and application. For a wild camera, which sends a picture via e-mail to the user at irregular intervals, the smallest connection speed of the Flat 4 with 0.4 Mbits download and 0.2 Mbits upload is sufficient. For surveillance systems, which you follow in real time and with moving images, you need at least the speed of a Flat 10 with 10 Mbits download and 5 Mbits upload.
Static IP-Adress and IPv6 Network
Thanks to the combination of Digital Republic SIM cards and an IPv6 network, you can now set up a network with static IP addresses for all your IoT and mobile devices. This allows you to easily access your devices or your data in the office remotely from anywhere. Thanks to the static network, no additional cloud service is needed.
